Wounded Healers - If They Walked Through That ...

There is an axiom in religion, spirituality and psychology: Until you connect with your own suffering, you can't reach into the suffering of others.

Part of that initial connection is the search for the source of that suffering. That's exactly why those in extreme pain tend to enter educational tracks and professions which provide "answers" to the tough parts of the human condition.

The transcendental psychologist Carl Jung was among those who not only went that route. He was willing to make profound sacrifices to find insight. One of those was to break with his non-mystical colleague Sigmund Freud.

Get to know a minister, a tarot reader or a psychologist who is able to truly heal and you will touch the residue of that adversity.

Those who can't bring relief to other suffering human beings probably never did their own "pain work." In its essence, life is difficult.
