Some readers may not recall that there was a common form of communication called talking face-to-face with someone. Then the telephone arrived, which largely helped with more connections with the people we spoke with. The round dialer on the telephone was replaced with buttons, (making it faster to call). If that speed wasn’t working then we paged the party, (meaning this is urgent!). 

The internet introduced emailing, (instead of the traditional “snail mail”), again the “faster” aspect of communicating.

Pagers fell by the wayside and cell phones were the preferred way of being in constant contact instantly, (unless there was no signal). But, alas, talking has been replaced now in great part with texting, (a rapid form of reaching out but sometimes flawed by the furrowed brow of the recipient because…sometimes a text could be taken the wrong way).

Our communication now-a-days is more non-verbal.  Less and less of hearing the human voice. But, sometimes, the interconnection gleaned from interacting with another person, (whether this is a confidant, a psychic, (which are the same), a therapist, etc.,), is invaluable.

Take care of yourself and keep that human connection going.
