If It Too Late? - Tarot's Ace of Swords Indicates That Depends

 On Reddit Big Law a single mother in her 30s asks this: After being in public relations related to law should she apply to law school, which would entail a geographical relocation. Here is the thread.

The responses coming in are all over the place. That fits in with wisdom of the Tarot. The Ace of Swords transmits the message that there are no right or wrong lessons. Just a lot of grays. For that very reason decisions - at least wise ones - are so difficult to make.

I offered no answer to the poster. I only shared my experience. Here it is: 

"In my early 40s I switched from communications to attending Harvard Law School. It was not a good fit for me, left as a 1L, and returned to communications. What was a good fit was starting my own communications boutique 14 months later. Maybe that was the change I really needed: Getting out of being a middle manager and becoming an entrepreneur."

Exiting law school in the mid 1980s when I was middle-aged didn't block doing stimulating and well-paying projects related to legal. Those ranged from lobbying communications for the Fortune 100 to actual assignments for law firm both plaintiff, such as Marler Clark, and defense, such as Paul Weiss. In addition for almost two decades I had operated a syndicated influencer blog about the business of law. 

In "Tarot for Change" Jessica Dore observes:

" ... reality is generally ambiguous. Most of the things we encounter in life exist in a grey area."

For those of you skeptical about Tarot readings, here is the article in The New York Times saluting it as a tool for self-awareness and introspection.

Yes, There Are Content Workers - Many of Them Are Freelancers

Not so long ago, those watching his back would have nudged him to go by the moniker "consultant." The Long Half Life of The Feel-Good (from doing good)

The for-sales could have run on Craigslist for 16 more days.  Then came that Ah-Ha moment. Given the low prices you get for used furniture, even though in excellent condition, why not just donate the barely used innovative bed set, artsy storage chest/prism, snow-removal equipment and karma icons.  I knocked on a neighbor's door. When I described the goodies her face lit up. You bet, she said, her husband would be right down the stairs to bring up their new stuff.  Their five-year-old would tag along with some of her stuffed animals to place immediately in the chest.  That family is delighted. The glow spills over to me. And I need that as I continue to put together the logistics for relocating back to Sierra Vista, Arizona.
