Guard Your Heart
You have a perfect right to rid yourself of the people, places and things which can harden your heart. Even in the Bible, there's the record of Moses approving divorce. Kind of radical for those traditional times. Yes, humans in bad marriages can exit them so that they don't lose their capacity to feel joy, optimism and gratitude for what isn't broken in life.
Actually, you have a duty to "guard your heart." That's the phrase pastor Chad Gilligan leveraged this morning in his sermon at Calvary Church, outside Toledo, Ohio. The specific subject was relationships. However, that mandate applies to all aspects of our lives here on planet earth.
What I have noticed in tarot readings is this: Those who don't guard their hearts get hurt again and again. Soon enough they give off victim vibrations. Those attract more abuse. It's not unthinkable that the deeply wounded creature you are could yourself become an abuser. There is an old adage in spiritual circles: Hurt people hurt.
How to take preventive measures in matters affecting your heart? Conduct a daily audit of what could be souring you. Trust your findings. Can you transform those into what moves the needle forward to more life satisfaction? If not, then you have to phase the whatevers out. Or do an abrupt dump. Current technology facilitates that.
Pastor Gilligan confirms there is evil in the world. The burden is on you to block that from your life.
Thriving in confusing times starts from the inside.
