Hope, From Home Depot

 "I might never work again."

Home Depot has introduced Path to Pro program. Learn more about it here and apply. The initiative kicked off earlier this year.

It's free training and certifications. Both for newbies and those wanting to upgrade skills. Online and in-person. In English and Spanish. And providing actual certifications. 

The media reports:

" ... [It] has already trained thousands nationwide ... covering essentials like general construction, electrical work, HVAC systems, plumbing, painting, and more. [That includes] the basics of jobsite safety, tool handling, material management, and even soft skills like team communication – all tailored for real-world home improvement gigs."

So, what could be in this for Home Depot? The skills and the goodwill create customers and loyalists for its business. 

Meanwhile, in addition to bringing hope Path to Pro lifts the long-time jobless out of isolation. They aren't locked in themselves, applying obsessively to work which will probably never be offered to them.

 Paul Weiss has been the tipping point.  The Executive Order by the current administration - the third issued - got to us. How vulnerable we all are to power. Forget the grade school lessons about what America is about. Forget how university deans caved during our counterculture protests.  Yes, and forget "rights"  as being sacred. Here's what we now know.
