Andrew Windsor - Catholic Church Was Right About Peril of "Bad Companions"

At Sacred Heart grade school some of my classmates and I used to laugh about the tirades from the priests and nuns about "bad companions." Those supposed miscreants were positioned and packaged as "near occasions of sin." If we didn't avoid them we were instructed to confess that.

Now that the former Prince Andrew has lost so much including his royal title, I've matured into seeing the wisdom of those warnings. It's now Andrew M. Windsor.

We can speculate: How about if Windsor never decided to pal around with Jeffrey Epstein? Not that he might have lived a life within the norms of society. Way before the Epstein phase of his life he was known as "Randy Andy." But he might have been able to escape a scandal that ballooned into the end of the easy good life.

He's not alone, of course. But some others had more to fall back on, ranging from huge independent wealth to a solid network of supporters.

Classic is financial mogul Leon Black. His fall was indeed steep. He lost the top jobs at Apollo Global Management and the chair of the Modern Museum of Art. The taint associated with him was so intense that law firm Paul, Weiss squeezed into an interview with BusinessInsider that it no longer represented him. Recently Black took a setback in reputation restoration with the disclosure of the emails between Epstein and himself. However, Black essentially can keep doing much of what he wants. And socializing with whom he likes.

Among the limitations on Windsor is that he might not be so much the Randy Andy. There are no seductive force fields as the title "Prince" and the lux shelter of royalty.

Should Windsor have been wary of too good of a time with Epstein? Melinda French Gates picked up on the peculiar vibes and warned her then husband.

In tarot readings distressed human beings recount to me how they get lost in toxicity and can't find a path out. That's symbolized in the tarot deck by the Nine of Wands.

Note how confused this human being looks. Once ensnared it is tough to become disentangled. There are so many layers of control.

So, obviously, trust your moral compass about if you're being pulled into a horror. Back away.

In the poignant film "Good" streaming on free platform Tubi, a literature professor ignores early signs that aligning with the Nazi party isn't producing the promised social good. He loves the goodies that come his way such as becoming head of the department and power.

When he witnesses the reality of a concentration camp he finally lets himself in on the illusion. His former doctor is imprisoned there. Tears roll down the professor's face.

Thriving in confusing times starts from the inside.
