Generative AI & Jobs Wipeout - Jesus as Career Coach

Now familiar is law firm Paul Weiss chair Brad Karp's prediction that AI can eliminate some junior lawyer jobs and that some practices can be commodities.

As such a technological disruption is taking hold, I am noticing in my tarot-reading sessions that more clients are embracing Jesus - or some other mystical entity - as their career coach. They are "turning over" their next to that invisible form of guidance, comfort and protection. 

Among the concrete results is calming. That provides the relief to size up what's going on in their ability to earn a good living and then strategically plan how to modify or replace that as AI gets more and more traction. Weekly, sector leaders are becoming increasingly aware of the power of the technology to do better, faster and more cost efficiently what humans traditionally do. 

In starting over the tough nut to crack is just that: It's a starting over, often from the bottom. 

One former white collar in pharma had become a caretaker for the elderly. It took, for them, what seemed too long to shift from direct care to launching a placement service for home health aides. What got them patience, hope and confidence was turning it over to Jesus. Twice a week they attended one of those Calvary evangelical churches. After the service they went into the prayer room for individual praying-over.

A form of reaching out to a higher power that's becoming universal is The Serenity Prayer. That's represents a three-part plea.

One, is to accept the things which cannot change, at least right now.

Two, to have the courage to try to change what might be changed.

And, three, to develop the wisdom to discern the difference between what has to be embraced and what can be adjusted.

  The Wall Street Journal fingers retirement for the epidemic of a loss of self among the aging.  However, the process can kick in as soon as anyone senses they are no longer young. We Are All Paul Weiss - And Now We Are Different

 Paul Weiss has been the tipping point.  The Executive Order by the current administration - the third issued - got to us. How vulnerable we all are to power. Forget the grade school lessons about what America is about. Forget how university deans caved during our counterculture protests.  Yes, and forget "rights"  as being sacred. Here's what we now know.
