No Safe Jobs, Sectors Undone - Now What?

Want to find "safety" in the job market? CNBC reports that's what more and more are seeking. 

Well, the harsh gallows humor on that one is: Remember when a government job was secure. And, remember when tech was the place to be.

The new reality is that safety in employment no longer exists. 

Whole sectors also are in upheaval. 

Prestigious professional services like consulting in which Deloitte and PwC had been in the catbird seat, law firms like Paul Weiss and Skadden that had high autonomy and public relations agencies like Edelman and Stagwell which had been influential currently are struggling to reset. 

So, instead of seeking employment safety or betting the ranch on a certain career path your mindset has to undergo a major shift. That's to a trust in yourself to navigate the growing challenges for finding, holding and moving on to better work or even investing in building a career path.  Should you opt for the MBA or graduate school? 

For some, I'm hearing through tarot sessions, that trust is coming from embracing some kind of "higher power." The entity is going by the names "Spirit," "Jesus," "God," "Universe," "Angel Guide" and more. 

There's a surrender to the recognition that human beings are so very limited. For what is needed in these uncertain volatile times is tapping into force fields which are beyond the rational. Even lawyers, who are trained in the evidence-based, seek the comfort of the mystical. More of my clients are lawyers as well as scientists and data miners. 

Among the most undone in the current job market are youth. Predictably they are experiencing a return to religion, especially in forming a direct relationship with Jesus. Evangelical churches such as Calvery Congregation are surging in membership. Bible reading lessons are popular. 

If a family member, friend or neighbor is suffering with financial angst relief is possible. Offer to pray with them. The fear vibration lowered, they can begin to focus calmly on the Now What. 

The Now What can be having to change and accepting the tradeoffs. In the Tarot that's symbolized by the Death card.

Aging - Holding On To Sense Of A Self

  The Wall Street Journal fingers retirement for the epidemic of a loss of self among the aging.  However, the process can kick in as soon as anyone senses they are no longer young. Gone is their youthful self. Denying aging, they don't invest in creating a new self - and continually bringing up to date that identity. By time there is a shift from a demanding career to part-time, freelance, entrepreneurial or no work there is no emotional, physical and spiritual platform to keep building on. We Are All Paul Weiss - And Now We Are Different

 Paul Weiss has been the tipping point.  The Executive Order by the current administration - the third issued - got to us. How vulnerable we all are to power. Forget the grade school lessons about what America is about. Forget how university deans caved during our counterculture protests.  Yes, and forget "rights"  as being sacred. Here's what we now know. The key driven in that EO was that a lawyer who had been a partner at Paul Weiss years ago - Mark Pomerantz - had landed on the US President's enemies list.
