Doing My Part

The Standard labels the Democratic Party's rapid response to Joe Biden's dropping out and Kamela Harris' emerging as a strong possible replacement as a "blitz." And it's on two fronts.

One is in visibility. Check your email and it's Harris everything. She skipped the Benjamin Netanyahu address to share her vision with college students. There are also the above-the-fold endorsements in the media from power players such as Hillary Clinton.

On another front is the fundraising. Hollywood is back. Wall Street is back. And deep-pocketed elite law firms have mobilized. Law.com reports, for example:

"Paul Weiss chair Brad Karp said he's 'working with many business leaders to raise money for the Harris campaign to enable her to fund what will inevitably be the most expensive election battle ever.'"

Today, Karp was working the phones, docouments Bloomberg Law. Like Bill Clinton, Karp is a master networker.

So far, so promising. The Reuters/Ipsos poll has Harris at 44 and Trump at 42.

But respected political strategist James Carville on "Morning Joe" warned Democrats that there is no reason for euphoria. The fight will be a tough one and the results will be close.

Unfortunately, liberal media is having a ball deriding the mistakes that Trump has already made. Those range, from the very least, outdated pop culture references such as the 1991 "Silence of the Lambs" to the more serious issues as the selection of JD Vance for number-two on the ticket. But history shows: Never underestimate Trump the strategist and conservatives.

Currently, sure, Trump got the wind knocked out of him. But he will return with extensive course correction. His signature is the bold move. The optics will resonate.

MY PART

Meanwhile, I contacted a high-ranking player in the Democratic Party to volunteer my tarot-reading talent. Once lampooned as "woo woo," the tarot has become a respected source of clarity, self-awareness and help in decision-making. Vogue recently published an article on how to read the tarot. Back in 2021, The New York Times did a major feature on the Tarot as a tool.

I estimate my tarot readings can be billed out to donors at $250 per 30 minutes. I could take on two a day.  Yes, doing readings takes a lot out of us.

Registered as an Independent, I assess Harris as the best choice for these scary times. Since I reside in TrumpVille (southeastern Arizona), I understand the force field the former US president and conservative ideology have magically created.
