You Got the Death Card: What That Means
"The situation for white collars is really grim today." - Posted an hour ago on Fishbowl Consulting. That's in response to the question about how the job market today compares to that in 2021.
So, it's not you if keep hitting a wall in a search for jobs or even gig assignments in the Knowledge Economy. Once generative AI becomes standard in strategy and operations, the number of opportunities will continue to decline.
That's why you lucked out if the Death card comes up for you in a Tarot reading. It signals that you are ready to let go of what was and to move forward into what can be.
Not everyone is at that phase of acceptance. That's because it's wrenching to jump all those hoops - getting the degree, being hired for the first few jobs, developing a brandname in your field of expertise - and then find you have landed in Paradise Lost. After a Reduction-in-Force or being outright fired you can't find comparable work. Meanwhile if you hold on and keep up that circumscribed job search your skills atrophy, new technologies are must-knows and those on your former network duck you.
But, that's no longer you, is it. You are finished with that. That's the message of the Death card. You have already had that Moment of Recognition that you have to and can start over again. You new territory, I promise you, will be your unique version of Paradise Found.
For you that might be certification in a niche, becoming licensed for a blue-collar career path such as long-distance driving, putting several gig assignments together and/or even starting a small business.
