Tarot Fool Card: Message That You Might Be Taking a Risk (and it could be a big one)

Medical doctors, lawyers, entertainers, and students at ivy league universities report being stunned: They made public their opinions about the military conflict between Israel and Hamas - and lost career momtentum or even jobs.

The odd thing about that - and it is the message of the Fool Card in the Tarot - is that they seemed to be unaware that they were taking a risk and that in this time of high geopolitical tensions it was a major one. This morning, for example, the New York Post reports:

"Iran’s foreign minister warned in an ominous tweet Wednesday morning that time is 'running out' for Israel following an attack on a hospital in Gaza, as experts grow concerned about a potential third world war."

With WW3 possible worldwide people are on edge. If you are a reasonable human being you develop plenty of caution in what you say. Therefore, there is little empathy for those who tumbled into the professional abyss after making statements society assessed as, well, on the wrong side of whatever.

Before going public it is wise to assume you are taking a risk, then ask: How big a risk is it and can I handle the consequences. In contrast it is naive to assume that your opinion is "right," therefore jolly okay to articulate. Some risk-taking is reckless.
