Is Leon Black Victim of a Dark Spell?

 As a Tarot reader I have concluded that maybe just maybe some spirit force has cast a dark spell on that one-time giant in finance and culture Leon Black. Lots of people allegedly (nothing has been proved against Black) screw up and lots have been proved to screw up (like Michael Milken). But after the public has enjoyed the scandal and then tires of that, poof, the thing goes off the radar. 

Not with Black. 

The latest suppposed expose goes on as a 38-minute read. That's the August 5th article in Air Mail (Graydon Carter's 2nd life after Vanity Fair) about Black by Johanna Berkman. Here you can read it if you have a subscription. And if you don't, here you can catch a lot of it in tabloid Daily Mail. The reality that the story has run beyond its expire date is that there are only 3 comments and 1 share for the article in the Daily Mail. In contrast the lackluster article in the Daily Mail on Dallas - Fort Worth as a new boomtown has 138 comments and 120 shares.

Much of what Berkman presents has been told and retold. Who doesn't know that Black's father Eli committed suicide? Who doesn't know about the betrayal by his Russian cutie who sued him for sexual whatever - and wound up having the litigation tossed? Who doesn't know about the two more recent sexual misconduct lawsuits? And the US Senate probe? Of course, there was that Jeffrey Epstein connection, which Black, unlike Bill Gates and Bill Clinton, can't shake. Oh, and that matter of the $158 million paid to Epstein. 

Instead of tsk-tsking about Black probably we are wondering how Air Mail is doing as a media business. Does this sort of article signal Carter is off his game and/or the Black stuff was a desperate attempt to boost subscriptions and buzz.

 Paul Weiss has been the tipping point.  The Executive Order by the current administration - the third issued - got to us. How vulnerable we all are to power. Forget the grade school lessons about what America is about. Forget how university deans caved during our counterculture protests.  Yes, and forget "rights"  as being sacred. Here's what we now know.
